Since first working together in 2023, Andy Guest Jetters has supported the growth of MRMS's drainage and utility operations with van-mounted jetting equipment, specialist remote reels and bespoke vehicle conversions.

MRMS is a drainage and utility service provider with extensive experience in maintaining drainage, utility and infrastructure assets. Although a relatively young company, it has grown rapidly while remaining agile enough to respond quickly to client requirements.

Investment in its drainage fleet has been central to this growth. The fleet supports inspection and maintenance contracts with utility companies, and Andy Guest has helped MRMS expand and adapt it through new equipment, vehicle modifications, refurbishment and the transfer of existing jetting units into new vans.

A relationship built around the fleet

When MRMS first approached Andy Guest in 2023, the business was expanding its drainage capability and required compact, practical jetting vehicles that could support engineers working across a range of environments.

The new vehicles were primarily deployed on Combined Sewer Overflow inspection and maintenance work, alongside PPM surveys and drain cleaning for Yorkshire Water. Andy Guest provided a single-source solution, installing the jetting equipment and carrying out additional vehicle modifications including tool racking and front and rear work beacons.

MRMS Business Development Director Tom Persson highlighted how well the equipment had been received by the engineers: “The new units are perfect, and we’ve had no issues at all. They are very user-friendly and the lads love using them.”

The lightweight nature of the equipment also provided practical benefits for the vehicles themselves, with Tom adding: “Because they are so lightweight, we’re also saving on wear and tear on the vans.”

Taking jetting beyond the van

As its drainage operation developed, MRMS also needed equipment capable of reaching locations where positioning a conventional jetting vehicle would not be practical.

In 2024, the company added a Remote Jetting Hose Reel for difficult-to-reach drainage works. Fabricated in the Andy Guest workshop, the remote reel was designed for high-pressure jetting on restricted-access sites.

Its tracked configuration provides mobility across uneven or delicate terrain, while the hydraulic hose reel enables operators to take the jetting hose up to 250m from the main water supply. This gives MRMS a practical option when drainage assets are located away from roads or conventional vehicle access.

Continuing investment in the Series 3

The Andy Guest Series 3 remains an important part of the MRMS drainage fleet.

Designed for demanding drainage applications, the current Series 3 combines high-pressure jetting performance with a compact, lightweight package. Powered by a 37hp Vanguard EFI petrol engine, it delivers 3000psi @ 12gpm and can be fitted with a seven-channel radio remote to support single-person operation.

Recent Series 3 upgrades include electronic throttle control, simplified wiring and improved diagnostics, making the machine more efficient and easier to operate and maintain.

Extending the life of the fleet

Andy Guest has also helped MRMS maximise the value of its fleet through vehicle refurbishment and equipment transfer.

In 2024, an MRMS van returned to the Andy Guest workshop, where the existing flooring was removed and replaced with hard-wearing chequerplate before the jetter was reinstalled.

More recently, in 2026, Andy Guest completed a further vehicle conversion for MRMS, transferring an existing Series 3 jetter into a newly configured van. The conversion included a bulkhead, half-chequerplate floor and aluminium side-wall protection, alongside work lights, a beacon and front grille flashers.

Reinstalling serviceable jetting equipment in new or refurbished vehicles allows MRMS to extend the working life of its investment. It also enables MRMS and Andy Guest to configure each vehicle around the practical requirements of the drainage team.

A straightforward working relationship

Speed of turnaround has been important as MRMS has expanded its drainage fleet.

“Working with them was very easy and straightforward,” explained Tom. “We brought the van into Andy Guest in the morning and Jason and the team had the jetter fitted and ready to go by 5pm. The guys certainly knew what they were doing.”

The relationship has continued to develop alongside MRMS's changing drainage requirements. From van-mounted jetting equipment and tracked Remote Reels to vehicle refurbishment and the reinstallation of existing machines, Andy Guest has provided MRMS with support across different stages of its fleet's working life.

Summing up his experience of working with the team, Tom said: “We are 100% happy with the service.”
