Before You Start

Before operating the Remote Jetting Hose Reel:

Check that the hose reel is securely connected to the jetting unit.
Inspect the tracks, hose and surrounding area for any signs of damage or obstructions.
Ensure the jetting unit is ready for operation.
Check that there is a clear route between the vehicle and the work area.
Wear the appropriate PPE before starting work.

The emergency stop for the system is located on the jetting unit, not on the Remote Hose Reel.

Starting the Remote Jetting Hose Reel

The Remote Jetting Hose Reel is powered by its own diesel engine.

Insert the ignition key.
Turn the key to start the engine.
Allow the engine to idle briefly before operating the controls.

Driving the Remote Jetting Hose Reel

The machine is driven using the two main joysticks on the control panel. Each joystick controls one of the rubber tracks, allowing precise manoeuvring across a wide range of terrain.

Push both joysticks forward to drive straight ahead.
Pull both joysticks backwards to reverse.
To turn, push one joystick further forward than the other, or reduce the movement on one side to steer smoothly.

Because each joystick independently controls a track, the Remote Hose Reel can be positioned accurately, making it easier to navigate around obstacles and place the hose exactly where it is needed.

The machine also features an integrated standing platform, allowing the operator to stand comfortably while driving and positioning the reel.

Lowering the Stabiliser

Before operating the hose reel, the stabiliser should always be lowered.

Using the right joystick on the main control panel:

Push the joystick to the left to lower the stabiliser.
Push the joystick to the right to raise the stabiliser once work is complete.

The stabiliser helps keep the machine secure while the hose is being deployed or retrieved.

Unlocking and Deploying the Hose

Before the hose can be unwound, it must first be unlocked.

Move the left joystick on the main control panel to the left to release the hose reel lock.
Adjust the blue hydraulic turn stop to set the desired hose deployment speed.
Once the speed has been set, use the joystick located next to the hose at the front of the machine to:
- Unwind the hose.
- Rewind the hose onto the reel when the job is complete.

Adjusting the hydraulic turn stop allows operators to match the hose feed speed to the job, giving greater control in confined areas while allowing faster deployment on longer runs.

Operating the Lights

The main control panel includes two lighting switches.

The left button switches the main LED work lights on and off.
The right button controls the amber LED warning lights fitted around the Remote Hose Reel.

These improve visibility when working in poor light while making the machine more visible to people working nearby.

Finishing the Job

Once the drain has been cleaned:

Rewind the hose evenly onto the reel using the front hose control joystick.
Raise the stabiliser using the right joystick.
Drive the Remote Hose Reel back to the vehicle using the twin track controls.
Turn the ignition key to switch off the engine.

Before transporting the machine, carry out a final visual inspection to ensure the hose is fully secured and the stabiliser has been fully raised.

Lower the stabiliser before deploying the hose. This keeps the machine stable while winding and unwinding the hose.
Set the correct hose feed speed. Use the blue hydraulic turn stop to match the deployment speed to the job. Slower speeds provide greater control in confined areas, while faster speeds improve productivity on long, unobstructed runs.
Keep the hose under control during retrieval. Allow the hose to wind evenly back onto the reel to prevent bunching, twisting and unnecessary wear.
