Servicing Guide

Annual maintenance is important to prevent malfunctions and improve the efficiency and operational life of your machine. Whether choosing to spread the cost of servicing with an annual service package or booking your jetter into a service centre when required, regular servicing ensures that equipment runs smoothly and day-to-day operations are not disturbed by faults and mechanical issues.

This is the recommended services guide for your jetter, however, these procedures should be performed more frequently under severe, dusty or dirty conditions. For more information on our servicing process, you can read our blog on Andy Guest Servicing.

Less than 100 working hours

Some maintenance requires users to check equipment daily or after a short period.

Oil level checks and water filter cleaning should be undertaken daily and after working in an area with a high concentration of pollutants.

Air filters should be cleaned every 25 working hours to provide optimum efficiency whilst nozzle holes should be re-punctured every 50 working hours to ensure continued high-pressure jetting.

Every 100 – 200 working hours

Important components of your jetter’s engine should be serviced between 100-200 working hours or six months, whichever is soonest.

The engine should be serviced regularly, after 100 working hours or six months. This is extremely important to ensure your equipment runs smoothly.

The engine oil filter requires servicing every 200 working hours to avoid any build-up that could affect efficiency.

Every 250 working hours (or 6 monthly)

It is essential to clean and take care of the multiple moving parts in the jetter to avoid clogging. This should take place after every 250 working hours or six-monthly, whichever is soonest.

Moving parts require regular lubrication to run smoothly after a prolonged period so they must be checked regularly, with the pressure regulator also requiring cleaning to ensure water is running at the correct pressure.

Every 500 working hours (or annually)

It is important to check, clean and renew components affected by oil every 500 working hours or annually, whichever comes first.

Pump oil should always be renewed and combustion deposits should be removed if you have been using non-synthetic oil to prevent a build-up which could harm your equipment.

Over 500 working hours or annually

Some checks are only undertaken annually or after 1500 working hours.

To prevent a build-up of calcium, annually you should thoroughly clean and decalcify both suction valves and pressure valves. The vaporizer also should be disassembled, cleaned and serviced every 1500 working hours to ensure maximum efficiency.

Other regular checks to undertake

Though some checks do not have a specific timeframe, they should still be performed regularly to ensure your equipment is running well.

These include checking all pressure and vacuum lines including fittings for leaks, replacing spark plugs and the set gap, draining regulators of accumulated fuel deposits, servicing the lock-off filter and having the regulator disassembled, cleaned and reset.

Troubleshooting Guide

Andy Guest Jetters provides nationwide on-site servicing, repairs and maintenance. Our mobile vehicles vehicle carries a full complement of spare parts and accessories, with the service team equipped to repair and service all makes and models of jetter. Should you have a mechanical issue or breakdown with your drain jetter, use our troubleshooting guide or book a visit with one of our approved service centres.

The engine does not start or stops abruptly

The first thing you should check is if the machine has run out of fuel. If the fuel isn’t the problem, then check if your main or secondary fuse has blown and contact your service agent if that is the case.

  • If your battery voltage is too low, then charge or replace it.

  • If the emergency stop has been activated, then you need to release the emergency stop on the machine or remote.

The high-pressure pump does not produce the required pressure

Firstly, you should check if the water tank is empty, if this is the case then you need to fill the water tank.

  • If the water tank flow valve has closed, open the valve.

  • If the water filter is clogged, stop the machine and clean the water filter.

  • If there is air in the high-pressure pump, allow the machine to run for a few minutes and if the air doesn’t bleed out contact your service agent.

  • If the suction valves get blocked, then carefully loosen the valves and descale them.

  • If the pump drive belt does not sufficiently tighten, then you need to tighten the belt or replace if necessary.

If the suction valves have worn out, then you need to contact your service agent.

Pressure not consistent

Firstly, check if the water level in the tank is too low, and if so then stop the engine, refill the tank and restart it.

  • If the water supply valve has not sufficiently opened, open the supply valve completely.

  • If the water filter is clogged, stop the machine and clean the filter.

  • If the pump sucks air, stop the machine and check all hoses and couplings for leakage.

  • If the nozzle has clogged, then stop the machine and clean the nozzle (clean the nozzle holes).

  • If the pressure valves are dirty or worn, then stop the machine. Check the condition of the pressure valves then clean or replace them.

  • If the pump packing is worn out, then stop the machine and replace the gasket.

  • If the pump drive belts start slipping, then stop the machine and tighten the belts.

  • If the pump plungers are damaged, then you need to contact your service agent.

  • If the pressure control gets clogged or damaged, then you need to contact your service agent.

Warning lights after a short operation

If the battery is flat or defective, then you may need to recharge or replace the battery. Check if the unit is charging correctly and if it isn’t, then check the battery terminals for debris and clean it.

The electrical supply appears fine but the equipment is not functioning

Firstly, check if the emergency stop is pushed in, and if so then unlock the emergency stop.

  • If the receiver has no current, then check or replace the fuses.

  • If there is no radio connection, then check the functions of the control lights.
